Meal Planning + Today's Goals
(note: I am more of a monthly goal gal myself, but when I’m just starting a big project, I find it extremely beneficial to have micro-goals to keep myself accountable.)

I was hoping for more, but I didn’t eat as well as I should have. One of my major problems at college is CONSTANTLY seeing my peers eat bad food. It’s this skewed form of peer pressure…it takes everything I have to say no to chocolate-caramel popcorn or freshly ordered pizza. Sigh. No excuses. I can do this.

It’s 2011 (and it has been for roughly 9 days).
So, as a trip down memory lane, I started losing weight around this time last year. I started at 217, and was at my thinnest at around 191.0 in July. I thought I would be able to maintain my weight loss or even maintain losing weight…
Then college came.
First semester was a whirlwind of adjusting to a COMPLETELY different environment...

Goals
I’m not completely sure what I should be doing as far as goals as of yet.
I think I want to get down to 190 or 185…I was about 190 at the end of summer (disgusting to think about).

I’m kind of upset about this, because I’ve steadily gained 6 pounds over the past two weeks even though I haven’t changed my diet. I have, however, started significant exercise. Monday I tried yoga, Tuesday I did spinning, and etc. My butt hurts like a mother, so that’s a sign that something positive is happening.
Too bad this is the week I needed to get smaller...

In other news, I leave for college on Wednesday. I started this blog/journey to basically “shed my chub” so I can start this part of my life on a good note.
I’ve lost 23.6 pounds.

On Vacation
in Las Vegas! So many attractive frat-bro guys here…it makes me not want to eat. :)
I honestly never go on vacation and its times like these that I start to realize how important my life is.
Random but I wanted to say it.
July Goals
1. Reach 185 lbs!
2. Do toning/pilates/core exercises 4 times a week via ExerciseTV OnDemand
3. Try new healthy foods (specifically kefir and almond butter)
4. Swim twice this month
5. Bike 3 times a week (do not take GORGEOUS SUMMER WEATHER for granted!)

WIW (because I actually remembered) + Summer...
Last Week’s weight: roughly 195
Today: 192.6
I am starting to use the 180s as a new motivation…2.7 pounds until I am in a new set of numbers! Drinking lots of water, sweating tons, and eating very very well (new thing: spinach salad as an appetizer for lunch every day. I get my veggie serving plus I am more full!).
I leave for college around August 20 and it is still my goal to be...

Sadness for my Biceps + Weight Update

Backstory: My gym has been remodeled for the past week so I have been forced to go to other branches of Lifetime Fitness. I went to a branch about 8 miles away and one about 20 (my mom drove! haha saving gas ftw) and was slightly devastated to see that my favorite bicep machine was not at either of these branches! I just got an e-mail from my future college
and I got into a class on obesity (one of the 30 out of 250 who applied!). Life is good. I can’t wait to use my experience with weight and my formal education to mold future obesity policies so the next generations don’t have to go through what is happening today.
20 pounds lost...but it's bittersweet
So, I have officially lost 20 pounds since my high of 217.0 pounds (for you math wizards out there, that means I am currently 197.0 pounds). I have celebrated a bit, but have also plateaued a bit. I want to be 180.0 pounds by August 24th, which is definitely attainable. But, I am not nearly as happy as I should be.
My friends are not happy about my weight loss and some have even gone to the point...

Reflection on Weight, Endings
I am feeling slightly reflective. Why?
1. I am down to 197 pounds. This is really good in some ways, because with a 2 pd/week weight loss, I can be around 175 by the time college rolls around. The best thing is that I know I can do it because I have OFFICIALLY LOST 20 POUNDS SO FAR. Whats another 20ish?! Good question.

Newsflash
I am the same size as I was in the seventh grade (6 years ago). This is shockingly awesome.
Additionally, here’s a bit of runner’s log information: yesterday I ran. 8.68 miles. 8.68 MILES!!! That’s quite a lofty distance, if I do say so myself.

I’m in the middle of finals week…AHHH! It’s SO difficult to keep eating healthy! My snack right now is an apple and I’m about to head to the gym for some nice cardio/lifting.

EEK. Well, that’s not too bad, honestly. Although I have been exercising, I have been eating like…crap (yesterday’s gorgeous mural of food includes two Krispy Kreme donuts, mint chocolate chip ice cream, candy, etc).

April Goals + Spring Break Recap
Hey all!
I haven’t been online in quite a while due to the fact that I have been on spring break in San Antonio, Texas! What a gorgeous place; I will try to post some pictures if I get the chance. Accordingly, I gained about two pounds on break (rawr) but was back in the gym this morning. I am so sick of gaining weight and it feels like the entire month of March was composed of endless...
Mid-Week Check-Up (10 Pound Milestone Fiesta)
I’m heading off to San Antonio, Texas tomorrow for a couple of days (spring break!!) and wanted to quick weigh myself to see what’s been going on.
As a preface, I completely rehauled my lunches this week! I usually had turkey and cheese on a sandwich thin, an apple, a fiber granola bar, and a Luna bar for a morning snack. I realized that I only eat Luna bars because a lot of people...

I had to reblog this…this video is just so eye-opening at how terrible our nutrition is in America and how ignorant we are regarding it! How can we make adults stop eating pizza when they are taught that its a healthy grain as a child? Disgusting and utterly shocking.

Sheesh, I had a terrible weekend eating-wise. I was at a conference all weekend where the only food served was greasy, fried, and calorie-filled. While I tried to make healthy choices, there was also the fact that there weren’t many opportunities for exercise. Oh well. Back on starting now! :)

Week in Advance
Monday: 55 minute Step class, 5 minute sprint, 10 minute jog
Tuesday: 50 minute arc trainer
Wednesday: 35 minute run, 10 minute high incline walk, 5 minute sprint
Thursday: 50 minute arc trainer
Friday: do what I feel like!
Exercise plans are awesome, especially when you REALLY need to get that weight off

What do you do when you are at a hotel all weekend without time to exercise and fatty foods shoved onto you? I am really scared that I am going re-gain some lbs :(
Oh well, hardcore will start again once this weekend is over. I just can’t turn down ice cream when its the only thing available!
